Microsoft announced a lot of big changes for the Xbox 360 at this year’s E3 convention in L.A. this past June. Now you can be one of the first people to try out the new dashboard update with a beta-event that is going on right now.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb broke the news that a new beta program is underway to test out the dashboard update. There are a few steps that you will have to do first before you are entered into it.
Updates to the dashboard include the use of Internet Explorer, something that has been strangely missing from the Xbox 360 up until this point. “Personalized dashboard recommendations” and “enhanced category search and discovery features” will also be introduced into the dashboard. Making it easier to find the content that you are looking for and discovering new content that you didn’t know existed.
You will have to sign a NDA to be part of the beta and although it’s tempting to show off the new functions to your friends that didn’t get in, we highly recommend you do not.
