The previously announced (Xbox 360: 4GB Kinect Bundle) that will come with a two-year contract is now available at Best Buy and Gamestop. Here are the details of the new pricing structure from Microsoft.
The Xbox 360 bundle comes with a 4GB hard-drive and the Microsoft Kinect. In order to get the $99 price-tag you have to sign up for a 24 month contract, priced at $14.99 a month. That price will include Xbox Live Gold for those two years. Now the bundle does make getting an Xbox 360 cheaper up front, so you can start playing all those games you love right away. The two year package doesn’t exactly make buying an Xbox 360 with a two arrangement cheaper in the long run.
For comparison, Amazon currently (as date of published) has the Xbox 360 4G Kinect bundle priced at $299, and a one-year Xbox Live membership priced at $49. At those prices the same bundle will cost you about $397 in two-years. The Microsoft bundle we mentioned above with the two-year agreement will cost you about $458.
So you do save money up front but you will pay more in the long run.
