TellTale Games has officially announced a release date for their hit ‘The Walking Dead’ episodic game series on iOS devices. The game will make its iOS debut this Thursday, here is a sneak peak.
The first episode “A New Day”, opened to rave reviews from some of the top game-critics out there. The official launch date will be July 26, 2024 and it will cost $4.99.
The game has been completely remastered for iOS devices, with a “new interface design to create an even more intuitive experience” according to TellTale Games. The company states that you will have “full character control of Lee Everett as investigation points, actions, dialogue and decision making flows onscreen and is seamlessly integrated with the environments”.
Since the game comes in episodes, we should tell you how the pricing is going to work. After you buy the first game, you can then “opt to purchase future episodes individually for $4.99 from within the application, OR you can pre-purchase the rest of the series as a Multi-Pack [Episode 2-5 Bundle] for $14.99″. If you aren’t a fan of math, that’s a savings of 25%.
The game will be playable on iPad 2, the new iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and 4th Generation iPods and above. There is no release date set for the second episode but it is under development.
On a blog post, TellTale games had this to say to the fans of the series:
We thank all of our fans once again for their patience on this release, and we hope you’ll enjoy what we think will be the best The Walking Dead experience we could make! Remember, your choices, no matter how seemingly large or small – may all have an impact on your story as you play along with this episode, and within future episodes. Pay attention to the stats screen after the ending to see where you stood in the heat of the moment amid some critical moments among a vast network of other players trying to survive. Also, if you’re playing on your phone, iPad, or anywhere in public or in a loud environment – we strongly recommend the use of headphones! Lastly, we’ll leave you with one final game play hint for the uninitiated once you start playing… ‘Pillow!’
