  • Sony Entertainment Network site streamlines account management

A few days ago we shared the news that the PSN network is changing its name to the Sony Entertainment Network or SEN. Although the change is cosmetic, there are a few features on the website you can enjoy.

The information from your PSN account is already being merged. You can check out your downloaded content on the MEDIA tab. Clicking on it, brings up the product description and pricing. You can also register Sony products; TV’s, Playstation hardware and Sony mobile phones.

It is also much easier to change your account information and view what content you already have. It is divided into subcategories, such as; Video, Game, Music and Comics. Changing your credit-card information or billing address, or adding funds is also much easier on the new website.

One personal problem, that is now solved, is how easy it is to deactivate old hardware. My PS3 60GB was activated to play movies from the PSN store. When it died and I sent it in to be replaced by a new PS3 Slim, I couldn’t de-activate it and my PSN account was still linked to it. This was stopping me from downloading more videos on my new device. Now I can easily deactivate old hardware and activate my new devices and even name them.

There is also the ability to manage sub-accounts and change notification preferences. As of right now, not too many new features have been built into the new website but it is much easier to control content and settings. It’s a step in the right direction for managing all that Sony has to offer. Hopefully new features and social interactions will be added in the future.

If you have a PSN account, you can log in and view these new changes for yourself on the Sony Entertainment Network below.

      hahaha! “Congrats on knowing though.”

Sometimes I can’t stand being part of the ‘gaming community’. Bunch of entitled dorks…. stop congratulating them.

@extermin8or2:disqus since most people are just learning about the SEN network, and since that PSN will now change its name, I felt it is important to tell people about the service. Congrats on knowing though.
