Required Reading: ‘The History of Sonic the Hedgehog’, pre-order available
Sonic the Hedgehog is still Sega’s true mascot and one of the most recognizable icons in the video game industry. Now you can relive the history of Sonic in an upcoming book from Sega.
The book looks back over 20 years of Sonic. It’s no quick-read either, coming in at 300-pages it promises to cover every detail including; “every 2D and 3D Sonic game, plus spinoffs and crossovers. You’ll also find character profiles, promotional artwork, rare concept art, and a detailed look at the origins of the Blue Blur”.
As of right now you can pre-order the book straight from Amazon and at a discount (at the time this article was published). It’s one of those pieces that all video-game history-buffs should own. The publisher is Udon Entertainment, and the book is set to release on October 9, 2012. My birthday is 10 days later, I’ll accept a late birthday present from Sega.
You can check out the official listing below on Amazon, it hasn’t been updated with the recent media but you can secure your copy.
