This week saw the launch of the new Nintendo 3DS XL, a larger version of the very popular Nintendo 3DS. Also launching alongside the new device was ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2′.
According to a report from Enterbrain, the Nintendo 3DS XL sold just under 200,000 units after being on the market for two-days. That is about half of the total sales of the original Nintendo 3DS on launch day alone. During that time the standard 3DS sold about 400,000 units on its first full day on store shelves, according to estimated sales figures.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 seemed to do very well on it’s opening day, the famous plumber sold an estimated 430,185 copies, though it’s unclear if that number includes digital sales. Since Nintendo hasn’t released any of its internal sales numbers, it most likely does not.
