Namco Tales, the developer behind the Tales of… RPG series, will be absorbed by Namco Bandai. This may not appear to be big news; after all, it’s simply Namco Tales being absorbed by its parent company, but take into account that Namco Tales had existed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai.
If final approval passes in a board meeting next month, the studio will be officially dissolved by January 1st. There have been no details as to what will happen to the 109 current staff members or the studio itself.
Namco Tales was currently in the process of developing Tales of Innocence for the upcoming PlayStation Vita and also Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave. Again, there is no word on what will happen to these titles.
