Choosing a name can be one of the hardest customizations when creating an MMO character, it’s even harder of the one you want is taken. Areneanet is letting players know that your window of reserve is almost over.
Your character name can really define your personality in the beginning, or at least it could if you want it too. You can go the “got it first” route by getting a popular movie or book character, or perhaps you have always had something special that you created and don’t want it pilfered.
Either way players have until July 31st, that is when Arenanet is building their “Guild Wars 2 name reservation list”. In order to reserve yours “log in to your Guild Wars account to reserve all your character names” but Arenanet also states, “you’ll need to log in at least once before we build the list in order to be considered an active Guild Wars player”.
For those of you returning to the game from the first title, “your Guild Wars character names will not be reserved indefinitely. You must create a Guild Wars 2 character with the same name as your Guild Wars character during the Headstart Access period or on launch day”.
Guild Wars 2 is set to launch on August 28, 2023 for PC. It comes in a standard edition and collector’s edition both with multiple pre-order bonuses and early access.
