FF VII ‘Character Booster’ Will Be Free
When word of a Final Fantasy VII re-release for PC was announced, fans were ecstatic. When word of a “Character Booster” was announced, fans groaned.
The “Character Booster” is a feature that will allow the player to increase all HP, MP, and Gil to maximum by simply clicking a button….effectively removing grinding from the equation. FF VII is a brilliant game with a fantastic story, but as any seasoned JRPG fan knows, grinding is simply how things are.
But will it cost any money? Will it be a microtransaction?
According to Square Enix: “No, the Character Booster will not cost real money to use…We’ll have final pricing info on the game to share soon, but we can confirm that there will be no microtransactions for the upcoming re-release of Final Fantasy VII.”
Well, that’s good news. At least the “Character Booster” will be optional, so those looking for a more authentic experience can still find it in the re-release.
