Anyone who has had the pleasure of playing Borderlands for the PC while running a rig powerful enough to pump the PhysX effects to High knows that you’re witnessing a level of awesomeness far beyond what any console version can do. Today, we show you the same sweetness in Hawken.
For those who are unaware, Hawken is a free-to-play mech game, and it looks absolutely fantastic. Developed using Unreal Engine 3, Hawken pits players against each other in intense mech to mech multiplayer combat.
Not only does Hawken use the power of Unreal Engine 3, but the game also makes use of GPU accelerated Nvidia only PhysX effects that add destruction particles, enhanced weapon effects, and a soon-to-come PhysX feature: APEX Turbulence. This is a feature which uses velocity fields to simulate particle motion. Players can see this is action with energy collectors, mech death embers, deployed shields, and mech health orb embers.
