In San Francisco this afternoon, Apple officially announced the new iPad 3. With a brand new screen and a new processor, its one of the the most advanced tablets on the market.
The biggest upgrade that the new iPad will feature is the screen, which will now be able to feature full 1080p HD. In fact, it has the possibility to reach beyond that, as the new screen has the resolution of 2048 x 1536 (1080p requires 1920 x 1080).
The next big feature for the device is the processor, the new iPad will come equipped with a quad-core ASX processor. Apple stated in its press-conference that the new processor “will be twice as fast”, and offer four-times the performance of a Tegra 3 processor unit. As for pricing it once agains depends if you will buy a device with wifi-only or 4G (3G will be used if 4G is unavailable in your area). Wifi will be; 16GB ($499), 32GB ($599) and 64GB ($699). The 4G models will be; 16GB ($629), 32GB ($729) and 64GB ($829).
