A compatibility problem is to blame for some players not being able to play co-op online in the new ‘Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt’ DLC that was released today in ‘Borderlands 2′.
Many people are reporting that they are unable to play the new DLC and can not get into any of the areas in either single-play or co-op area, other just the co-op portion of the game.
This marks the third DLC installment for the hit open-world title, and the first to encounter such a large problem. The compatibility pack that was released in the update so that non DLC holders could still play with DLC holders in other areas, seems to be doing just the opposite.
The 2K forums have been ablaze with frustration and angry posts about the issue but Gearbox is working on a fix as we speak. “Brad L” from Gearbox support posted a link to this message, “The team has been working through the night to address the Compatibility Pack issue and is treating this as a critical priority”.
No exact timeline has been given at this point but the fact that they have narrowed it down is a good sign. Only Xbox 360 users have reported issues at this time though it may be a problem for other platforms as well. You an stay close to the forums or the official Gearbox or Borderlands 2 Twitter account for more information regarding the fix.
