Electronics Arts has officially gone on record opposing the ‘Defense of Marriage Act’ or DOMA. A law in the United States that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. The global publisher has produced a video, allowing staff members and senior developers to share the stories of their past.
EA views the law as unconstitutional, EA is met with many other major businesses and brands that have also spoken out against the law. The purpose behind the video is to raise awareness and to put pressure on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals who have the power to change the law.
EA States, “DOMA presents a number of problems for businesses like EA, as it creates regulatory, tax, and discrimination complications for employers, and that’s why we’re standing against it. The underlying lawsuit impacts all employers no matter how big or small, and no matter the industry, and we encourage other business to join these efforts”.Top Stories in the last 24hrs:
