EA finally announced a few details about the upcoming, and leaked, Battlefield 3 ‘Premium Service’ that will become available sometime in the future. The details were reported to Reuters earlier today.
In the article the premium membership was confirmed, along with a one-time $50 price-tag. The service will allow PS3 users an extra “two-weeks” of the DLC packs. This does not go for Xbox 360 and PC. The service also allows gamers the chance to “erase their game statistics”, which is a nice feature but not really a selling point to most gamers.
The service will allow players the chance to get ‘discounted’ future DLC, like ‘Aftermath’ which was just announced. Though this could mean that all future DLC will be free, it is not official at this point, just discounted. The details aren’t exactly overwhelming, but you can expect to hear more of the service later today, or at E3 2012 this week.
A leaked video for the membership was on YouTube for just a few moments yesterday, though it has been removed. That video is expected to resurface soon.
