EA told Gamefront that the ‘trick’ used to gain these unlimited resources isn’t an oversight, it was intentional. “The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch. We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game,” Jino Talens from EA stated.

 



 

There is a mechanic built into the game would cost players money through micro-transactions, though this method is free and unlimited. The payment method would let you cut some grinding out of your day and if you have the extra cash then EA isn’t going to stop you, they aren’t going to stop you from using the glitch either though, so the choice is yours.
