Square Enix has thrown its support behind the launch of the new console-box ‘Ouya’ by adding its hit mobile title ‘Final Fantasy III’ to the launch list.
Final Fantasy III was recently released for Android phones this past week, having already been on the PSP and iOS platforms. The developers of Ouya made the announcement via their Kickstarte promotion, which has raised over $5.5 million dollars to-date:
This morning, we are honored to announce that OUYA is partnering with Square Enix to bring you one of the most beloved franchises in gaming — Final Fantasy. We will kick this off with Final Fantasy III, which will be a launch title on OUYA. This will be the first time gamers outside of Japan can play FFIII on their televisions through a console.
This wil most likely be only the first of many titles that will hit the new console from the giant publisher, who is a known for releasing older titles on newer platforms.
